Agronomist from the Federal University of Piauí (UFPI), with an MSc (2012) and a PhD (2016) in Agronomy from the same institution, and recipient of the PPGA-UFPI Best PhD Thesis Award in 2018. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Agricultural Engineering and Soils at the Center for Agricultural Sciences (CCA), UFPI, a permanent faculty member of the Graduate Program in Agronomy (PPGA/UFPI, CAPES grade 5), and coordinator of the Soil Analysis Laboratory (LASO/CCA/UFPI). He is the leader of the Soil Quality Study and Research Group (GEPSoilQ UFPI/CNPq). His research focuses on Soil Science, with emphasis on soil fertility and fertilization, soil organic matter, carbon fractions, microbial biomass and activity, soil quality indicators, and the use of organic residues (tannery sludge, carnauba bagasse, rumen residues, poultry litter, and composts) in tropical agricultural systems, integrating crop productivity (maize, cowpea, pepper, and vegetables) with soil sustainability. He coordinates and participates in projects on soil carbon, organic fertilization, and conservation management, including long-term studies with carnauba bagasse and nitrogen fertigation. He maintains technical and scientific cooperation with leading national institutions, including EMBRAPA, UESPI, UNESP, and IFPI, and is also a member of national and international research groups such as the Soil Microbial Ecology of the Mid-North Region Group (UFPI/CNPq) and the Group on Earth Observations Biodiversity Observation Network (GEO BON, McGill University). He is actively involved in human resource training, supervising MSc dissertations and PhD theses in soil quality and nutrient management, and serves as an ad hoc reviewer for national and international journals.
