RESUMO:

Dengue is an acute febrile disease, transmitted by the Aedes aegypti mosquito. Some procedures are proposed to prevent the proliferation of this vector, among which we highlight the use of sprayed insecticides on urban roads and the use of repellents. The present work has as main objective the extraction of essential oils (OEs) of the species: Ocimun grantissimun (Lamiaceae) and Syzygium aromaticum (Myrtaceae), and evaluation of its active components against Aedes aegypti during the search for the human host. Tests with the enzyme acetylcholinesterase were also carried out following the protocol of Ellman (1961) adapted by Rhee (2001). The technological prospecting study was carried out in the following databases: Pubmed, Science Direct, LILACS, Scielo and Google Scholar in the period from 2014 to 2019, using essential oil, Aedes aegypti and repelent as keywords. The essential oils were extracted using the Clevenger hydrodistillation system. From the O. grantissimun species, OE was extracted from the leaves and S. aromaticum was worked with the flowers. Essential OEs were subjected to larvicidal tests, for better evaluation of activity, turbidimetric tests were performed to obtain the degree of solubility of OEs in DMSO 1%, acetone, alcohol and Tween 80. In obtaining the thermodynamic factors of OEs, calculations of vibrational frequency (Gaussian 09w) and thermogravimetric analysis (TG/dTG). The technological prospection study resulted in a total of 280 OEs of plants which were extracted from 33 families, namely: Lamiaceae (45.4%), Myrtaceae (38.3%) and Rutaceae (28.4%). In the prospective study, the metabolites reported with the greatest repellent / larvicidal activity were β-karyophylene, α-pinene, 1,8-cineole, linalool and eugenol, the lethal concentrations ranged from 40 to 120 ppm. The turbidity of OEs in ethanol showed values from 30 to 102 NTU, implying the presence of a greater number of soluble molecules. The studies of larvicidal tests of the oils S. aromaticum and O. gratissimun, showed LC50 values of 39.5 and 54.6 ppm respectively. For anticholinesterase activity, O. gratissimun had an IC50 of 6.2 ppm. The result of the high thermal stability suggests that the oils can be used as a natural agent for pest control in tropical and subtropical countries. This work suggests that the essential oils of S. aromaticum and O. grantissimun are promising in the formulation of repellents, larvicides, insecticides and pesticides.
